This stunning petite writing desk/table appears to have been made, likely by hand, in the late 1800s or early 1900s. It has beautiful turned legs and a wide drawer. The entire piece has been sanded down to remove the deep red stain and reveal the original, glorious pine wood grain. 
To even out out the tones of the wood, this piece was given a custom paint wash, followed by polyurethane and wax - for both durability and the highly sought-after "scrubbed pine" look. The drawer was sanded down entirely inside and out, followed by repairs to ensure that it glides with ease. The inside of the drawer has been lined with a blue brushstroke pattern for a pop of color. A wooden knob ties the primitive yet modern look together.
This piece is full of character - hand forged nails in the top and a crack down the left leg add to the charm and tell a story of the life that this pine beauty has lived. Due to the petite size, it could function as an entry table, writing desk, console table, etc. Pine is lightweight, so it can be relocated with ease, and the tones of the wood make it easy to incorporate into any decor.
