This beautiful antique blanket chest was handcrafted from solid wood and features dovetail joinery, solid brass handles, and loads of character!
Sanded down to raw wood, the chest has been thoroughly cleaned and sealed with a water-based satin polyurethane for a natural looking finish with added protection. The original lock remains intact, but the latch has been removed for safety reasons. The handles on the sides were removed, cleaned to reveal the original beautiful brass tones, and reinstalled.
The inside of the blanket box has been refreshed with a lemon verbena wood tonic, which has a wonderful scent that will fade over time but helps to add moisture back to the wood.
This incredible piece of furniture would make a great coffee table or could be used as extra storage in a number of spaces - think the foot of a bed, under a window, etc. The neutral wood tones also make it versatile for many spaces.
