Manufactured by Cavalier Furniture Co., this incredibly detailed Jacobean style cedar chest is estimated to be from the 1920s. The lid of the chest had some veneer damage that needed repair, which made this piece the perfect candidate for a combination of paint and wood. In order to keep some natural wood, we sanded the legs down sealed them with a satin polyurethane. The top half of the chest has been painted in Champness, a beautiful, peaceful blue from Fusion Mineral Paint. Though this piece has been in our inventory for several years, we never noticed that it had a hidden drawer between the two sets of legs! With the push of a button, the drawer can be pulled out from underneath. The entire piece has been sealed with a satin polyurethane for just the right sheen. The inside of the chest is in immaculate condition and has a wonderful cedar scent. The chest measures 48" wide, 20" deep and 28" high- quite a bit larger than most standard cedar chests. For child safety reasons, the lock is intact, however; the latch has been removed. This is truly a one-of-a-kind piece with plenty of storage. Available for pickup in Falmouth.
