The veneer on the top was completely removed to reveal poplar wood, which was then sanded smooth.  After sanding, a paint wash was applied using the color Driftwood by Country Chic Paint. This same wash was used on the trim details after sanding them down to raw wood.
The damaged veneer and lock hole on the body was filled and sanded. The entire body of the chest was primed and painted in the color Sea Salt by Wise Owl Paint. Sea Salt is a muted calming blue/green tone that changes depending on the lighting. The inside of the chest has been refreshed with cedar oil, restoring that timeless scent that we all know and love.
